Don't OMIS out

Offshore & Marine Insurance Services (OMIS) has been insuring offshore oil and gas related contractors for decades. More recently, we have seen our contractor community growing increasingly in the renewable energy sector as well, but our policy has been specifically crafted to suit all the needs of any individual or small company who operate in this sector. Many brokers will promote themselves as “specialists” in the sector, but if you take a look at their occupation list, you will soon see that they treat you just the same as any standard bricklayer, plumber or scaffolder. Many policies don’t include the specific offshore cover extensions that are required, leaving contractors massively exposed. We believe we have market leading policy coverage and still have the support of our dedicated team of sector experts behind the scenes who are still happy to discuss your needs. Online is the easiest way of buying from us – but our people are still here to give you any reassurances or answers you need.

Employers Liability

Employers’ liability insurance is a legal requirement if you employ one or more individuals and it’s imperative that your insurer understands the complex environments you operate in. It protects you against the cost of compensation claims arising from any employee illness or injury which happened as a result of their work for you.

  • Our cover is available with the statutory limit of £10m onshore, and £5m offshore
  • Available as part of a package
  • Short term policies are available – for 2 to 6 months
  • Annual policies are also available for all year round coverage

Public Liability

Public liability insurance is a critical cover for anyone working in the energy sector.  It can cover legal expenses or compensation claims if clients, suppliers, or members of the public suffer personal injury or property damage because of your business activities. You operate in complex environments, and as such, the potential liabilities can be huge and therefore the right protection is key.

  • Our cover is available with £2m, £5m or £10m limits of indemnity
  • Available on it’s own or part of a package
  • Short term policies are available – for 2 to 6 months
  • Annual policies are also available for all year round coverage
  • Offshore cover can be excluded, limited to 30 days or unlimited
  • Can include cover for North America whether on or offshore
  • Cover enhanced to include an element of Cyber Liability as standard

Professional Indemnity

If you give advice professional and advice or provide a professional service and receive fees for this work – you could be liable if your work leads to a financial loss for your client. Also if you handle data or intellectual property for clients, you could be exposed to a liability if something goes wrong. Professional indemnity insurance is specifically designed to cover you for compensation claims and legal fees that may arise if a client suffers a financial or professional loss because of your work. Mistakes can be made, and you don’t have to be explicitly negligent to become involved in legal action. Get protected.

  • Our cover is available with £1m, £2m or £3m limits of indemnity
  • Available on it’s own or part of a package
  • Bought as an annual policy for all year round coverage

Business Travel

Getting to and from your contract site, can expose you to risks. The risks of the travel itself can be covered, like for delays or cancellation, or lost baggage for example. More importantly is the medical support and expenses whilst you are away. If something happens, the last thing you should worry about is what to do, and how much the bill might cost. Our Business Travel product supports you wherever you are in the world, and will ensure you get the support you need, when you need it.

  • Cover for a single trip of any duration, or an annual quote for all year round cover.
  • Our annual policy also covers you and any directors of the business, and their families, for personal holiday travel as well
  • A dedicated 24/7 helpline to access a worldwide support infrastructure
  • Claims settlement direct with the medical provider, so you have no bills to cover – excesses could apply
